E-commerce is enabled by the internet, which allows customers to visit an online store, explore, and place purchases for the items or services they desire via a variety of communication devices. When a consumer places an order, his or her web browser communicates with the server of the online store's website. Data from the order will be sent to a central computer (order manager) and passed to inventory level, which is a merchant system that controls payment information and a bank computer, before returning to the order manager. Following order validation, the order manager will notify the store's web server, which will show a message to the customer indicating that the order has been processed. The order manager will communicate order data to the fulfilment department so that the goods or service may be successfully despatched to the client. At this moment, items would be dispatched to the consumer or the required service would be provided.
